Live Blogging Dance Moms! 5/7/13

I’ll be live blogging tonight!
8:10- It’s the Mother’s Day episode! I’m excited to hear all about Abby’s past! Abby talks about how she got her start in choreographing and how her mother impacted her. I think it is funny that Abby was named after the prettiest girl her father ever dated…and she wasn’t her mother. Then, we flash to Christi and her grandmother’s influence on her. It was a flashback to a few episodes back when Christi visited her old house. Now it’s time for Abby to talk about how bad all the Dance Moms are. This should be fun.
8:25- Abby shares what her and her mother disagree on- pets. Every birthday list, every Christmas list, every wish list began with a dog. Abby then goes into her love for Broadway Baby; it’s quite touching. Now, they are reminiscing about Abby’s early teaching days. At 14, Abby was a mean teacher. Some things never change. It’s time for another critique of Abby’s Dance Moms. This time it’s Kelly. They discuss how Kelly grew up at the dance studio and now her daughters are dancing at the studio. I think it is really sweet how Abby treats all of her students like daughters. We then flash to Abby’s Angel dance. I think that dance was Maddie’s best- it honestly has so much passion and heart in it. I want to see her perform it now! Imagine how much greater it would be now.
8:41- With all of these flashbacks, we get to see all of the girls when they were younger! They’ve grown up so much and Abby has too. Now it’s time to analyze Holly’s mothering style. I love Holly; I think she is such a wonderful mom. She’s so sweet to Nia and really treats her like an adult. Hahaha, Abby is full-blown blasting Melissa on her parenting. I think sometimes Melissa worries too much about her image it ultimately hurts her daughters.
8:52- Abby is so moody. Sometimes she’s like a mother to the girls, but other times she’s an evil woman. We go back to the first episode ever- when Christi and Kelly got drunk at a competition. High quality parents there! Apparently, Abby was a daddy’s girl. But, I so happy that Abby has a relationship with her mother. We end the program with the sad music and Abby crying because she’s so happy. Wow, this was a good episode!

April Favorites!
2 MayIt’s already May! Just a few more weeks of school and then ADIOS junior year!
Here’s what I loved in April.
1. The Wet Brush- If you don’t have one of these, you need one. I had a horrible track record with brushes getting stuck in my hair that lead to having to break the brush. I think the death toll was up to 3 in a span of 3 months. Once I got the Wet Brush, I could glide it through my hair and get all those horrible tangles out. SO WORTH IT!
2. Essie’s Tart Deco- This color is the perfect summer color (so of course I’m wearing it in spring because that makes sense.) It reminds me of a color Carol Brady (The Brady Bunch) would wear.
3. Yes to Cucumbers Face Towelettes- The smell took awhile for me to get used to, but I love how soothing they are on the face. Perfect for those lazy Friday nights!
4. Cheez-itz in Colby flavor- Literally heaven. Just try them.
